The Fishwick brother's quintet featuring Dave O'Higgins pay tribute to pianist and composer Cedar Walton who we sadly lost in 2013. Cedar came to prominence with Art Blakey's Jazz messengers alongside Freddie Hubbard and Wayne Shorter. His funky, blues soaked expressiveness, class and sophistication combined with his ability to write tunes that are listenable and make people feel good has kept him in good standing with the jazz record buying public for decades. Many of his tunes have become Jazz standards. Steve Fishwick is widely considered to be one of the best jazz trumpet players to come from the UK. Performances in New York and throughout Europe have helped him establish a global reputation. Steve and Matt Fishwick were lucky enough to record with Cedar in 2007 on the Hard Bop Records release '...With Cedar Walton'. Dave O'Higgins has been a mainstay on the London scene since the mid 1980's. He is very active as a leader and sideman performing throughout Europe and America with his own groups and as a sideman. He has performed with many jazz luminaries such as Joe Locke, Joey Calderazzo, Eddie Gomez, Billy Childs, Dave Kikowski, Stephane Grappelli and Eric Alexander to name a few. He has also recently been touring with Darius Brubeck. The quintet also feature Rob Barron on Piano and Dario Di Lecce on Bass.
